ConnectHub is a professional networking application developed and operated by
Pentalone Technologies. We are committed to protecting your privacy
and handling your personal data responsibly and transparently.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account details — name, username, email address, password (encrypted)
- Profile information — profession, location, bio, gender, educational background
- Profile photo uploaded by you
- Contact details — phone number, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram (optional)
- Research papers and their descriptions
- Messages sent through the in-app chat
- Reports submitted about other users
- Feedback and bug reports submitted through the app
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device FCM token for push notifications
- Online presence / last seen timestamp
- Profile view counts (we record when your profile is viewed)
- App version when submitting feedback
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect precise GPS location
- We do not collect browsing history outside the app
- We do not use advertising identifiers
- We do not collect biometric data
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To enable you to connect and message other professionals
- To send push notifications about connections, messages and likes
- To show your profile to other users in search results and suggestions
- To allow other users to find you by name, profession or location
- To process and respond to reports you submit or reports made about you
- To improve the app based on feedback and bug reports
- To send administrative emails (account alerts, report confirmations)
We never use your data for advertising, and we never sell or rent your
personal information to third parties.
4. Information Visible to Other Users
You control what other users can see. By default:
- Public to all users: Name, username, profession, profile photo,
rank badge, connection count, like count, profile views, bio, location (town/country),
email verification status
- Visible to connections only: Contact details (phone, email, WhatsApp,
social profiles) — only if you enable this in your privacy settings
- Always private: Your password, FCM token, blocked users list,
account event history
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore,
Firebase Auth, Firebase Storage), which provides enterprise-grade encryption at
rest and in transit.
- Passwords are hashed and managed entirely by Firebase Authentication —
we never see or store your plain-text password
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
- Firestore Security Rules restrict data access so users can only read
data they are authorised to see
- Firebase servers are located primarily in the United States and Europe
6. Push Notifications
ConnectHub uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send you
push notifications. Your device token is stored in your user profile and used
only to deliver notifications from ConnectHub. You can disable push notifications
at any time in your device settings.
7. Third-Party Services
ConnectHub uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, push notifications
(Firebase Privacy Policy)
- Google Play Services — app distribution and device services
We do not integrate advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social login providers
that track your behaviour across apps.
8. Your Rights (GDPR & Data Protection)
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access — request a copy of your personal data
- Right to Rectification — update or correct your data via Edit Profile
- Right to Erasure — permanently delete your account and all data
via Settings → Account Settings → Delete Account
- Right to Restriction — hibernate your account to temporarily
hide your profile without losing data
- Right to Data Portability — contact us to request an export
of your data
- Right to Object — contact us to object to any processing
of your data

9. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data retained as long as your account is active
- Deleted accounts: All personal data deleted immediately upon
account deletion
- Closed accounts: Data retained for 30 days then permanently deleted
- Hibernated accounts: Data retained indefinitely until reactivated
or deleted
- Reports and feedback: Retained for up to 2 years for
safety and moderation purposes
10. Children's Privacy
ConnectHub is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware
that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete
it immediately. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us.
11. Blocking and Reporting
When you block another user, both parties become invisible to each other across
the app. When you report a user, the report is reviewed by our admin team within
48–72 hours. Report details are kept confidential and only visible to our team.
12. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
We recommend using a strong password. You can change your password at any time
via Profile → Change Password. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us
immediately at

13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update
the "Last Updated" date at the top and notify users via the app. Continued use of
ConnectHub after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by applicable data protection laws. Users in the
European Union are protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Users in other jurisdictions are protected under applicable local laws.
